What an experience! It was like walking through President Lincoln's life step by step. I was surprised at the depth of presentations and the honesty in the difficulty he had as president that was shown. I will go back to take in more details!

We really enjoyed our visit. Quite a variety of exhibit types to appeal to anyone of any age. They had some hands-on displays and a children's area that our son really enjoyed. My husband loved seeing Lincoln's letters and belongings, especially his shaving mirror. Looking into the same mirror he used daily really struck a chord. I loved all of the wax figures that brought Lincoln's story to life. It was a great way to spend an afternoon and we look forward to coming back.

very good historical displays of Lincoln's life and times including a very good presentation of his lying in state. captions clear, succinct and informative without talking down. Free tour of Lincoln house done by family friendly National Parks staff. well worth the long trip from Chicago

Great displays with sound effects. Nice edifice. Staff are knowledgeable. 2 movie theaters with 3 D effects surround sound and vibrating seats in one- like a Disney theater because I am told it was done by Disney. Interesting displays attempt to recreate real life events. A place for kids to play as well that entertained about half hour. The adjacent library is for research and not really a public attraction but you can take a peak. $12 adults, $9 student, under 5 free. Probably spend at least 90 minutes to cover content in superficial level.

We had a wonderful time. It's an entire day experience to visit the Lincoln home as well as the spacebar Museum and in our case Union Station. On the way home it's a good idea to stop off at the Lincoln tomb which is about a mile or so past the downtown area. The only caveat is that the museum was over air-conditioned and actually cold. I would bring along a very light jacket even in the summer. There is a lot of reading which may be a little difficult for younger children but there are a couple of videos particularly at the Museum which are excellent.
