This Illinois governmental agency is definitely NOT Responsive, Innovative, Transparent, or Efficient. Perhaps Governor Rauner should appoint a new director who will strive for the above. Ms. Baer is apparently not up to the task.
The IDFPR website states-Responsive, Innovative, Transparent, Efficient. That certainly doesn’t apply to this governmental agency. Try getting Jessica Baer, a director, to return phone calls to discuss her department’s failings. I filed a complaint with her department against a licensed CPA who didn’t document accounting irregularities in his annual audit of the city where I lived. Her department (1) took three years to investigate the complaint, (2) apparently never checked the authenticity of the extensive supporting documentation, and (3) didn’t send any written response regarding their closure of the complaint nor why they didn’t sanction the licensed professional. Only after my numerous emails and phone calls during this three-year period did I finally get a verbal response – nothing official or in writing.
I've had the same issues others have stated. I've been waiting over a month for the Illinois board to send a license verification form to the state I'm transferring to, which is holding up my ability to obtain employment. I've been trying to call the toll-free number for 3 days and always get a busy signal. No response to emails. I called the local number for the licensing office in Springfield; the receptionist told me to call the toll-free line. When I explained that the line is always busy, she said "yes they are very busy. You just have to keep trying." Thanks for taking my money and wasting my time!
You call the Toll free number and you talk to someone that reads whats on their computer screen. whether its pharmacy or beauty licensing these are all the same phone representatives! You ask them about your pharmacy exam and how long does it take to renew they have no idea what you are talking about. Nor do they answer emails!
I sent paperwork and payment over 6 weeks ago and no one can tell me if it was received on sitting in a pile. Please create a system that at least checks in documents until fully processed. Gheez!
We are moving to a new state and my wife needed the department to mail confirmation of PTA license in this state so the state we are moving to would issue her a license in that state. The department had no problem depositing the check for this task but told us a week after depositing it, that they would need 4 to 5 weeks to mail the confirmation. It is astounding that in the age of automation and Internet it would take that long to confirm a license. You guys make getting a drivers license look easy.
