Beautiful house kept immaculately historic. The tour guide was happy to answer questions and knowledgeable. No pictures allowed.

An amazing example of what happens when the architect and client are in sync ... and the client has $1.3 Billion of her inheritance to spend. Jokes aside this is one of the most fascinating Wright houses I've visited. I can't judge how it suits the site since in the hundred years since it was built Springfield has grown and changed around it. But just as a structure it is remarkable. Even more amazing is it's state of preservation, which is attributable to some strange quirks of it's history. Admission is free, but a contribution of $10 is suggested. Definitely worth the visit especially if you're in town for the Lincoln Home. Thanks to NPS, State of IL and City of Springfield for preserving these pieces of our history.

I've been here many times over the years and it never disappoints. Every time I discover something new. The guides are amazing, the gift shop is top notch and their special events are fun. This is an absolute must see site. Beautiful stained glass, wonderfully imaginative styling, a true masterpiece hidden away in boring old Springfield. (I'm kidding, if you know where to go Spfld can be a very fun place.)

The Dana-Thomas house exceeded my expectations! The house is in beautiful condition, it's full of original FLW furniture. The tour was small, 4 of us, and well done. Though I would have like to hear more about the exterior. It was mainly about the interior, which is fabulous!

The Dana Thomas House is a must see for anyone interested in architecture. Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and built for heiress, Susan Lawrence Dana, the house has been painstakingly restored to its 1910 appearance. Wright designed everything in the house including furniture, lamps, urns, vases, etc. All of the furnishings in the house are original and are still on display in the home. Tours are done by volunteers. The home is open everyday of the week with tours beginning at 9:00 am.
