Such a nice park. The gardens and carillon are great in the summer. The improvements to the ponds and bridge came out nicely.
Beautiful safe place to walk, jog or bring kids to a great playground. Lots of dog walkers. Ponds to feed ducks and geese. A botanical garden dorm and beautiful bell tower. Also several Pokemon Go stops and gyms.
It is a very popular park. Lots of families and plenty of equipment for children to play on. At the play equipment part there is a sandbox with sand toys. There is a picnic gazebo also. The park has a walking and bike trail. Also there is a carillon that rings bells and there are tours inside it to see how it works. The park has a greenhouse and ponds with ducks. This is an amazing well thought out park and well worth visiting. Sometimes it is hard to find a parking spot because it is so popular.
Litterally grew up in this Jewel of a park inside the middle of Springfield! People are nice, no problem crowds. Great playground for the youngster's!
We love Washington Park so much. We grew up not far from the Park, and spent many a day not only playing, but horse back riding from the stables across Chatham Road. Our children grew up by the park, doing the same things as we did, minus the horses. Now our grandchildren love it as we did and still do. We are so fortunate to have this beautiful park as well as many other great parks in Springfield.
