What a great place to eat. Good food!!! Our server Lauren was absolutely wonderful. We were pretty much the only ones there. While chatting with Lauren we found out she's an opera singer. The owner let her perform for us (he also wanted to hear her sing). And wow!!! She got a round of applause. Lauren, you should be on AGT or The Voice. You go girl.
My lady friend and I had dinner at char house Saturday 11-4-17. I ordered the 12oz ribeye and she had the Cajun pasta with chicken and shrimp. We got salads to start. I had Caesar and she had the house salad. They were both good. they make the ranch dressing in house and it is very good. I also had the broccoli and cheese soup. It wasn't made in house but was good. My lady's pasta was in a tomato base sauce, not what I would call creamy as the menu described it. But the dish was still tasty. The chicken and shrimp were cooked well and it was well seasoned. My steak was nicely seared and cooked medium as I wanted it but that was all. It hadn't been seasoned before during or after cooking. The whole experience was very ordinary. Nothing was bad but nothing stood out either. The service was good and it's obvious they care at this place but it's not translating into great food.
The steaks were pretty good (mashed potatoes seemed to be from a box, though ), but the decor was more Denny's than steakhouse. Due to the design, there's zero privacy or ambiance, and the waitress was determined to make each table's order and conversation a shared experience for everyone in the room. (Very intrusive.) I wouldn't go back.
Jeff was our server. He was wonderful!!! He was attentive and funny. My drink was never empty!! All my sauces were served with the food. The food was awesome. Huge portions!! All hand made!!! Wonderful cuts!! The place was clean and well designed. Wonderful atmosphere!!! Thanks Jeffy!!
This was a very quiet place – didn’t seem too busy although it looked to be able to serve quite a bit of people…I wonder if their days are numbered. Anyway, the service was spectacular and the food, downright tasty. I had their boneless wings, a bowl of chicken noodle soup, and their ribs/ribeye combo. All of the food was delicious and after a small snafu with the wings (I was offered traditional and they only had boneless – which the waitress graciously gave a discount because of the mix up), my belly was quite satisfied. The soup was hearty, the rib meat fell right off the bone, and the ribeye was tender and delicious. I’ll probably go back because there is a lot more to try.
