The sale of the bike was a wonderful process for me, as shop owner Bob a 6'6" former college basketball player, who cannot be missed...partly due to his height, but primarily due to his great personality. Bob worked with me through a process of matching, my height, experience, price range, biking goals, and other information that he used to narrow the selection down to three. In this case, it was two Marin's and a Raleigh. I got to test drive all three with Bob's observations and comment considerations. I further narrowed my selection to the two Marin's, and then selected the San Rafael.

I purchased a Marin San Raphael a few months ago and brought it in for it's first overall checkup, to have some accessories added, and to have a normal gear slippage problem corrected as cables were stretched, a normal process of the bike wearing in.
