Best grocery experience ever. Employee teams decide direction of pricing and store choices. Fantastic deli counter with indoor seating. Breakfast available 7 days a week, well priced with variety of selections some made to order. Fantastic Sunday brunch. Usually busy but worth the wait. Gas station on property competitive prices. ALWAYS make a trip here when in Springfield. Wish our area would build a store here.
Awesome place to get groceries or a bite to eat. Friendliest employees that are always willing to help. Never wait in checkout line long because they will call additional employees to the front. Market Grill has great selection of food, wine, and beer. Brunch buffet on the weekends is delicious.
I love this store! My holiday was so much better for spending an hour shopping here. The meat department had steaks and chops on special. They were tender and juicy. We sampled Brie and wine; ended up buying both and they were delish! The staff were friendly and even "invited" is back for a wine tasting event! I should mention that we bought a rye boulle at the bakery and we're very happy with that too. Grocery shopping here is a treat.
I have a love/hate relationship with this place. I love some of the sale promos they have, but I hate the way this store is merchandised. I love the variety of flavors of brats that they have, but I hate their seafood department. It reeks and you can smell it down several aisles. I've been to fresh seafood markets in Florida that do not smell as bad. They have a great frozen food section, great liquor department, and a great bakery. I've ordered several times from their fresh/hot food counter, they really should have their chefs/line cooks do a tasting before they serve it. It's been a disappointment.
Love, love, love this store! The prices are just a bit high, but their freshly prepared foods are excellent, as are their specialty departments. The attached bar & grill is very good, and includes a weekend brunch. At the other end is an attached liquor store, which is also excellent - you can find lots of things there you can't find anywhere else in central IL. Staff is always very friendly and helpful. You can even shop for your groceries online and pick them up, or have them delivered!
