This fair is part of who I am. I live for August..."fair time"! The music is plenty and the beer flows freely. The only negative thing is this year they certainly did not think about the wine growers if Illinois, the poor people were pushed to the side,making it hard to find them. That's a huge mistake on the organizers part because A WHOLE LOT OF FOLKS loved going to the venue in the Artisan's bldg to support and sample the
There are 2 big areas of rides so the kids have plenty to do and don't miss out on conversation world and the butter cow.
There is so much to do and see here! We spent two days and still did not get to see or do everything! I love that you can rent golf carts and ride the tram to cut down on how much walking you do. All the staff and workers where very nice and friendly. The do a great job providing seating on benches and picnic tables. Lots of shaded areas and seating in the shaded areas. I so recommend taking sun screen since alot of stuff is in the sun like the rides and food vendors. There is a lot of history you can see as well.
I spent a few days at the fair with family and had a great time. There is a lot going on ranging from a plethora of different foods multiple events and concerts. There were also numerous rides and animals.
If you have never been to the Illinois State Fair there is so much to do it is ridiculous, just make sure to bring your walking shoes!
I have enjoyed going to the state fair since I was a child and it is still a great experience every year. I love all the live music and entertainment. The Expo building is a great place to find unique products and the concerts are usually great too!
The Illinois State Fair features the same attractions every year which can be a draw or a deterrent depending on your opinion. If you have gone before and enjoyed the fair, then you will enjoy it every year. Some things never change, and the state fair is one of them! Individual tastes will vary, but the highlights for me of the Illinois State Fair are Conservation World and the Art Exhibition.
