Every time I have been here they are always helpful and kind.
I was charged almost double was quoted and learned that just discussing your illness can cost you over $100 dollars.
NEVER go here to get lab work done! The techs were very very rude and unprofessional, and I'm not sure they even knew what they were doing. I was sent over here because I have small veins and the tech at my doctors office wasn't allowed to try to get blood from my hands (no one has ever been able to pull from my arms and most people don't even attempt once I tell them this). I let the tech know that I was sent over because the techs at my doctor's office couldn't find a vein in my arm and she said 'that isn't true'. She asked me multiple times about where I've had blood drawn before where they've only taken from my hands as if she didn't believe me. She asked if she could take from my arms, and I was hesitant, but then she insisted on attempting to pull from my arms saying they were required to attempt there first, so if that was true I'm unsure why she asked my permission the first time. She tied the tourniquet around my arm and I let her know that I have an implant in my arm, but I felt it and decided it was far enough away from it. She found a small vein, but wanted to try my other arm. She put the tourniquet on my other arm and couldn't find anything. She then tried for my hand, and after digging around for a while (and in a baby-like voice said 'aww, you look like you're about to cry'), she decided to try again on my other arm. She wrapped the tourniquet around my arm, without checking on where my implant was, and squished my implant. I let her know and she replied 'yes, those can be crushed easily' and moved it. She then tried getting at the small vein in my arm and after digging around for a while she hit a nerve or something that made me gasp a little and the tech jumped and said 'oh my god you scared me so much' and then had someone else switch spots with her. The second tech also dug around in my arm for the vein to no avail. They then decided to try the hand on that arm, and after digging around (and switching with each other) they decided they couldn't get anything from that hand either. They said, again in a baby-voice, that I have 'little baby-veins' and went to get their supervisor. The supervisor came in and decided to try the first hand again. She was much more professional and apologetic, and didn't have to work long to get the vein. Once the blood was drawn though, the first tech tried to take the needle from the supervisor, and the supervisor had to tell her multiple times to stop and once she did stop she had to tell her that they should never take an open needle from someone's hand. I have never felt so unnerved or disrespected at a medical facility in my life. The staff are completely unprofessional. I will never go back here again; switching to St. Johns.
I took my daughter in today to see doctor said “she was find”... with that said now she is running fever! instead I was told I was anxious!!!
We have used Express Care several times over the past few years for everything from a broken arm to pneumonia. The staff has always been friendly and knowledgeable. We have never needed anything that we couldn't get there - labwork, x-rays, prescriptions from Walgreen's right in the same building. It is our "go to" when we need immediate care.
